Eventually you have to make a choice

"We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." - Abraham Lincoln

A variety of early leaders of our republic knew what this nation could become if the people became lazy, ignorant, and corrupt. Well now we've got exactly that. I'm sorry, but appealing to Washington appears to have no chance of producing any result other than what we are currently seeing. Obama's path appears to be a 98% replay of Bush's path. There's no substantive difference between the two major parties on the issue of the economy. They are all bought and paid for by the same multinational corporations who have no obligation to the American taxpayer. Those same multinationals only interest is in how much they can loot from our treasury. So far the answer appears to be quite a bit with more to come.

"An unarmed man is a subject, an armed man is a citizen." - Thomas Paine

It is my personal belief that we've passed the point of no return. Voting doesn't change anything when the two major parties have a lock on the voting booth. Calling your "representative" doesn't change anything. Look at the 98%+ disapproval of the first bailout, yet they voted for it anyway.

Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

Eventually people have to find the will to do something other than cry about what is happening. Doing something will mean taking risks, massive risks, for what is right. Unfortunately, most people are comfortable enough that they are willing to suffer more and more leeches until they are so sapped of strength that they can no longer muster the will to fight back. In my opinion, we are long past the point of virtual torches and pitchforks, even past the point of real torches and pitchforks. The options remaining that can effect real change are both dangerous and risky to those who would try them and therefore most, lacking the courage of their convictions, never will.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." - Thomas Jefferson

Your president, your congressional representatives, your governor, your state legislature, the prosecutors, and the courts are not going to rock this boat. The only people who can are the common men and women. People like Karl Denninger keep demanding action but what if no action is forthcoming? What's your plan B then?

"Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." - Captain John Parker, Lexington Green, April 19, 1775
